Where to Stay on Orcas Island

The best area to book your Orcas Island lodging depends on what you are looking for. The main areas on the island are:

  • Eastsound - This is the main town, located in the center of the island. It is a good place to stay if you want to be located in the center of everything, and near restaurants and shopping.

  • Olga - A small port town located at the southeast tip of the island. This is an ideal location for those seeking more private and secluded lodging.

  • Doe Bay - A small town located on the southeast part of the island, close to a lot of outdoor activities like Moran State Park and some luxurious spas.

  • Deer Harbor - Located in the southwest part of the island. There are a large range of vacation rentals available in this area.

I recommend staying in Eastsound if you want convenience and a central location. If you stay in the heart of the town, you’ll be walking distance from restaurants, coffee, and shops. Whale watching tours depart from here, and you can also do wine tasting without worrying about driving.

If you are seeking more privacy and want to be immersed in nature, staying elsewhere on the island will better suit your needs and make you feel as if you have the entire island to yourself!
